An official opening ceremony of the GSM-network of Uzmobile operator has been held in Tashkent city.

The operator said that the GSM network works at 900 and 1800 Mhz. The subscribers can use voice services and internet at GPRS and EDGE standard with the speed up to 384 Kbps.

The clients can also use voice services and data transfer on HDPA, HSUPA, HSPA and HSPA+ standards at the speed of up to 21 Mbps. WCDMA technology uses 2100 Mhz, the operator added.

Uzmobile GSM offers convenient and affordable tariff plans, as well as quality services on GSM 2G/3G standards. Soon, the company plans to launch services on 4G technologies.

In 2016-2017, the mobile operator is planning to expand its GSM network across Uzbekistan, introducing 2G/3G and 4G technologies.

At the opening ceremony, Minister on development of information technologies and communication Hurshid Mirzakhidov said at the opening ceremony that launch of GSM of Uzmobile in Tashkent and Tashkent region is the first step on execution of the presidential resolution on measures on organization of national mobile communication operator.

Minister expressed hope that Uzmobile will contribute to development of economy of Uzbekistan via providing quality mobile communication services.

After official ceremony, Hurshid Mirzakhidov, director-general of Uzbektelecom Abdurashid Abdumuminov and director of Uzmobile Shukhrat subscribed the first subscribers of the mobile operator.

President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On measures on organization of the activities of national operator of mobile communication” on 12 February 2014.

Branch of Uzbektelecom, Uzmobile, received status of national operator of mobile communication of Uzbekistan, which should develop mobile communication services and GSM network across Uzbekistan, as well as ensure information security.

In line with the resolution, Uzmobile will develop GSM network across Uzbekistan. The operator plans to expand GSM network across Uzbekistan in 2016-2017 with introduction of 2G/3G and 4G technologies.

At the same time, UzMobile will continue to use and further develop CDMA-450 EV-DO network. This year, the company plans to expand CDMA network.

Uzmobile will offer comfortable tariff plans and quality services with using advantages of both CDMA and GSM/LTE standards.

According to data of operator, currently CDMA network covers 85% of settlements. Number of subscribers is about 500,000 users. The estimated market share of Uzmobile is 2.3%.
