Uzmetkombinat increases steel output by 8.3% year-on-year in Jan-Jun
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Joint stock production union “Uzbek Metallurgy Combine” (Uzmetkombinat) increased steel output by 8.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2010 to 373,100 tonnes (at forecasted plan of 344,500 tonnes), the company said.

According to the company data, the production of ferrous metal roll rose by 8.2% year-on-year to 357,200 tonnes in the reporting period (at the forecast plan - 330,200 tonnes).

Uzmetkombinat produced 86,100 tonnes of milled balls in the first six months of 2010, which is up 18.1% year-on-year.

The enterprise produced goods in established price for 314.2 billion soums and in comparable prices for 270.6 billion soums. The growth rate of goods output in comparable prices made up 0.6% year-on-year. Uzmetkombinat manufactured consumer goods for 8.8 billion soums, which is up by 5.5% year-on-year.

The company said it inked export contracts on metal roll with Turkmenistan, Iran and UAE, as well as supply of radiator ribbon to Kyrgyzstan to expand geography of exports. The company is close of signing of steel enamel ware.

In the reporting period, the company produced localized products for 65.204 billion soums, which is up by 36% compared to forecast.

Uzmetkombinat produced 5.364 billion soums within agreements, signed within the Cooperation Exchange, in the first half of 2010. The schedule was 5.354 billion soums.
