In the first half of 2007, the enterprises of the UzKimyoSanoat (Uzbek Chemical Industry) produced goods for some 310.5 billion soums. The production growth rate made up 14.8%, Pravda Vostoka reported.
The enterprises of the industry produce different sorts of chemical products used in chemical, metallurgical, gold mining, textile, light, food industries and agriculture. The production of fertilizers constituted about 75% of the total industry’s output.
The industry produced consumer goods worth 15.1 billion soums (up 34.1%). Production of mineral fertilizers made up 512,500 tonnes, including nitrogen fertilizers – 435,600 tonnes, and phosphoric fertilisers– 76,900 otnnes, which is substantially higher than in the previous years.
