Uzeltehsanoat, I-STATION discuss creation of venture on mobile handset production
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzeltehsanoat Association’s deputy chairman Askar Rasulov held a meeting the delegation of Korean I-STATION led by its president Endi Pak on 28 October 2009.

The sides considered perspectives of joint cooperation on production of mobile handsets in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek Association presented proposals on creating joint activity in Uzbekistan on base of one of the existing enterprises and creation of the production capacities in form of acceptable for investors. The sides also discussed current state of consumer market for mobile handsets in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

I-STATION is the largest mobile handset producer of GSM and SDMA, personal multimedia players, GPS navigation tools in Korea.

The sides agreed to further exchange information on proposed projects and perspectives of cooperation in this direction.

Uzeltehsanoat Association was created in 1994 by reorganization of the Uzbek state Concern of the radio-electronic, electrotechnical industry and instrumentation plants Radioelectrontehpribor in line with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 21 January 1994 "About measures for further deepening of economic reforms, maintaining protection of a private property and business development", the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 144 dated 17 March 1994, and the decision of founders.

Main objectives and activity of the Association are carrying out of a common state technical policy in electrotechnical sphere; defining perspective strategy of a sustainable development of the radio-electronic, electrotechnical industry and instrumentation plants branch, taking into account the advanced international experience and economic sphere, etc.
