Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association Fakhriddin Boboev met with the head of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) project “Supporting the process of reform and modernization in the vocational education system of Uzbekistan - TexVET”.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the issues of high-quality implementation of educational programs in the leather, footwear and fur industry of Uzbekistan, training, retraining, standardization and certification of qualified personnel for the industry.

It is worth noting that GIZ operates in more than 130 countries. It has been cooperating with Uzbekistan since 1992. For its activities here, it supported the private sector of our country, implemented joint programs and projects in agriculture, the chemical industry, education and many other areas.

The meeting also considered proposals from the Uzcharmsanoat association to attract grant funds to open a training center “Fashion, design and innovation in the leather and footwear industry” in the city of Tashkent, the task of which will be training and retraining of industry workers in the field of fashion, design, technology , standardization, marketing, innovation in industry. This initiative was fully supported by GIZ.

Separately at the meeting, the issue of creating a standardization center was discussed in order to increase the volume of exports of leather and footwear products produced in our country to foreign markets. First of all, this center will provide practical assistance in the implementation of international quality certificates at industrial enterprises and the application of international standards in production. This, in turn, will further increase the prestige of products under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand.

As a result of the negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed on the opening of a training center in the city of Tashkent in 2024 on the basis of the Uzcharmsanoat association.h
