Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is seeking collaboration with the Indian textile industry, Ilkham Khaydarov, chairperson of Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek Light Industry) said at the meeting with the representatives of the Indian textile companies in New Delhi on Monday.

Khaydarov said that the company is in discussion with Ginni International, which is planning to invest to some projects in Uzbekistan, Indian media outlets reported.

The Textile Development Company is also planning to introduce the weaving production in Uzbekistan, he said. “We are about to have a discussion with two silk producers in Bangalore as well," said Khaydarov.

"Eventually during my this visit, I am planning to take with me at least five or six Indian companies to Uzbekistan," he added.

Uzbekyengilsanoat chief said that Indian companies are targeting spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing segments. “If they go for our requirements then they will have to go for these segments," he added.

Khyadarov said that Indian textile companies can create either joint venture or 100% individual company in Uzbekistan.
