The Uzbek side provided information on rich historic and cultural heritage, reforms and developments in tourism sector, measures on improving infrastructure to the UNDP officials.
The UNDP representatives were also information about the state programme on development of tourism sector, including in Khorezm, Tashkent and Surkhandarya regions.
Stefan Priesner, in his turn, noted that Uzbekistan have all opportunities for development of tourism, including active tourism such as mountain tourism and alpinism.
At the meeting, the sides considered issues on training employees, attracting technical assistance and foreign investments into tourism sector. They also discussed perspectives of development of Aydar-Arnasay zone.
It was noted that UNDP Uzbekistan has great experience in developing and implementing projects on social and institutional development. The Uzbek side expressed interest in attracting foreign investments to hold educational courses in Uzbekistan.
