Uzbektelecom to modernize its CDMA network
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbektelecom joint stock company is planning to modernize and expand CDMA-2000 1x network of UzMobile branch in northern and southern regions of Uzbekistan.

The company announced a tender on project “Modernization and expansion of CDMA 2000 1x and СDMA 2000 1x EV-DO rev A. 450 MHz networks” of UzMobile branch. Tender was announced on five lots.

First two lots envisage expansion and modernization of CDMA-2000 1x networks of UzMobile branch in Karakalpakstan, Khorezm region, Navoi region, Bukhara region, Tashkent region, Samarkand region, Ferghana region, Namangan region, Andijan region, Kashkadarya region, Surkhandarya region, Jizzakh region, Syrdarya region and Tashkent city.

The maximum cost of equipment supply on the first lot makes up US$2.7 million and on the second lot – USS$4.9 million.

Within the third lot, the tender winner should supply radio relay link equipment with the maximum cost of US$450,000.

Uzbektelecom also announced tender on expansion and modernization of UzMobile’s SMS Center. The maximum cost of the lot is US$450,000.

Within the fifth lot, the company is planning to purchase software complex, which will ensure optimization and planning of radio networks, etc. The maximum cost of the lot is set at US$600,000.

Foreign and local producers or equipment suppliers can participate at the event. The project will be financed due to own resources of Uzbektelecom. Tender proposals are accepted till 20 October 2011.
