Uzbektelecom to attract loans of China Development Bank
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Uzbektelecom joint stock company is planning to attract loans of China Development Bank for US$107.6 million to modernization and expansion of network in the first half of 2013, the First Deputy Director-General of Uzbektelecom Kahramon Yuldoshev said.
Yuldoshev said that Uzbektelecom signed a memorandum with the Chinese bank in 2012 and developed schedule for preparation of the project.
According to the schedule, Uzbektelecom plans to sign agreements on purchase of equipment in the second quarter of 2013.
The funds will be used to implementation of projects on expanding and reserving backbone links, development of CDMA-450 mobile communication network of Uzmobile, and introduction of optic-fiber technology FTTx.
Chinese bank will issue US$10 million to implement the project on connection of 200 colleges to “Electronic Education” network.
