Uzbektelecom revenue reaches 190.3bn soums in Jan-Sep
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Revenue of Uzbektelecom, national telecommunication operator of Uzbekistan, from rendered services comprised 190.3 billion soums in January-September, or grew by 11% year-on-year.

The company said in a statement that its capital investments made up 22.3 billion soums, of which 99.1% fell to share of its own resources.

In nine months of 2009, total capacity of external internet channel made up 1,270 Mbit/second.

Uzbektelecom said it is realizing nine large projects, of which four were implemented in the reporting period. Among them are projects “Reconstruction of special service (Call Center) of Tashkent”, “Broadening of digital relay line in direction of Tashkent-Ferghana Valley”, “Expanding broadband network on the bases of DSLAM technology” and construction of international communication line on routes Andijan-Osh, Kungrad-Beinau, Denau-Tursunzade and Termez-Hairatan.

The company realized measures on installing telephones at the social infrastructure. Currently, all nurseries, mercy houses and children houses were equipped with telephones. About 99.2% of all lyceums, 96.9% of hospitals, 96.2% of polyclinics, 95.3% of schools, 92.1% of colleges and 91.2% of sanatoriums were provided with telephones. Some 65-70% of rural nurseries and rural medical points have telephones. The operator said 1,443 schools were provided with telephones using CDMA-450.

Within the project “Broadening wireless access networks into rural areas”, network of UzMobile, subsidiary of Uzbektelecom) is expanded. Currently, the company installed 20 additional basic stations in northern regions of Uzbekistan.
