Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Since the beginning of 2025, citizens of Uzbekistan have overpaid a total of 2.2 billion soums for liquefied gas in cylinders due to the accumulation of condensate. The information was reported by the Committee on Competition Development and Consumer Protection.

According to the agency, about 1,500 tons of condensate had built up in cylinders supplied by Hududgazta’minot and its regional branches, reducing the actual volume of gas delivered.

The greatest losses were borne by residents of the Surkhandarya region, who received 490 tons less fuel and overpaid more than 640 million soums. In addition, 126 million soums were unjustifiably charged to 79 consumers in the region.

Similar situations were observed in the Kashkadarya and Fergana regions, where residents did not receive 370 tons each of the liquefied gas they had paid for.

Since the start of the year, the Committee has received 19,500 complaints about gas supply organizations. The agency has ordered Hududgazta’minot and its branches to refund the overpaid amounts to consumers.
