Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution "On measures to further efficient use of assets of oil and gas organizations".
According to the document, unused and non-core assets of organizations of the oil and gas industry will be sold to private ownership via public auctions.
In accordance with the resolution, Uzbekneftegaz will put up for sale 156 facilities of oil and gas enterprises, located in different regions of Uzbekistan.
These include, for example, the cattle breeding complex in Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan, fish farming in Ulugnar district of Andijan region, a sports complex in he Kagan district of Bukhara region, a beekeeping farm in Dustlik district of Jizzakh region and many others.
Uzbekneftegaz was instructed, within ten days, in conjunction with the State Committee for Assistance to Privatized Enterprises and Competition Development, to approve schedules for the evaluation and public auction of facilities specified in the Cabinet of Ministers resolution.
If the assets were leased before the adoption of this resolution, the lessee has the pre-emptive right to acquire it. The sale of objects will be carried out in installments with an advance payment of at least 15% of the market value.
If these objects are not sold within three months from the date of bidding, they will be sold to business entities at market value in installments for up to ten years.
In addition, a list of objects gratuitously handed over to the local executive authorities in the field for operational management as state property, as well as to other organizations for their further effective use, was determined. Among them, in particular, a greenhouse in Karshi district, a hotel in Pap District, Neftchi Palace of Culture in the city of Fergana and others. Within a month, they will be transferred, free of charge, at the residual book value to local authorities.
