Uzbekneftegaz to modernize two compressor stations in 2010-2013
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz national holding company plans to modernize two compressor stations at Central Asia – Center gas pipeline in 2010-2013.

The project with initial cost of US$64 million envisages installation of two gas turbine facilities at electric traction with the capacity of 25 megawatts.

Uzbekneftegaz believes that project implementation will allow to produce 212 megawatt per hour electricity in autonomous regime, which will decrease twice dependence of compressor stations on power network and improve reliability of natural gas supply to consumers in the Tashkent area and the Fergana Valley in wintertime.

The project implementation will start in 2010 in accordance with the state investment programme.

Currently, Uzbekneftegaz is completing preparation to technical analysis of installing gas turbines. It is planned to complete project feasibility study by the end of 2010 and announce tender for supply of equipment at the end of 2010.

Uzbekneftegaz plans to finance the project due to its own resources.
