Uzbekneftegaz signs contracts worth US$507.4 million

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the II Economic Forum of Uzbekistan, held in Samarkand, Uzbekneftegaz signed contracts worth US$507.4 million with international companies and organizations.

Within the framework of the Economic Forum of Uzbekistan, the meetings held with a number of international organizations under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz Mekhriddin Abdullayev yielded results, contracts were signed, and the parties managed to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation relations.

In particular, on the second day of the Forum, negotiations were held with representatives of Barclays (Great Britain), CITI (USA), Santander Bank (Spain) and Haldor Topsoe (Denmark).

Issues related to the implementation of investment projects were discussed with I. Nikitin, Trade Director of the international bank Barclays.

In addition, a proposal was made to attract funding in the amount of up to US$200 million and an exchange of mutual views took place.

At the forum, a memorandum was signed with Haldore Topsoe on the development and licensing of sulfur waste processing technologies.

Also, a contract worth US$6.1 million was signed with representatives of the international company Honeywell UOP, which cooperates with oil and gas processing enterprises.

As a result of negotiations with Gas Turbines Engineering, a contract was signed for the overhaul of gas turbine engines in the amount of US$1.3 million.

The meeting with the representative of the MUFG bank and the results of the negotiations ended positively. It was noted that the issue of financing projects implemented by Uzbekneftegaz and various corporate needs will be supported by the MUFG bank.

As a result, an agreement was signed between Uzbekneftegaz and MUFG Bank in the amount of US$500.0 million
