Uzbekneftegaz modernizes refinery capacities
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz national holding company is planning to realize four projects on modernization of existing capacities of refinery plants in 2012-2015.

Total assessed value of these projects make up US$305 million and they will be implemented within the Programme on priorities of industrial development of Uzbekistan in 2011-2015.

Uzbekneftegaz is planning to implement three projects at the Ferghana refinery with the total cost of US$205 million.

In particular, the company plans to implement project “Hydro elevation of oil fractions at the Ferghana refinery” with the cost of US$99 million. The project implementation will help to process up to 500,000 tonnes of oil fractions a year.

Within the second project, it is planned to introduce technology on processing of oil-slime. The project cost valued at US$6 million. After the project implementation, the Ferghana refinery will process up to 5,000 tonnes of oil-slime a year.

Third project is directed to modernization and reconstruction of hardware of Ferghana refinery. The project with the cost of US$100 million will help to increase production of light oil products up to 95%. The project will be implemented in 2014-2015.

Uzbekneftegaz also plans to invest US$100 million to modernization and reconstruction of hardware of Bukhara refinery. As the project at Ferghana refinery, the Bukhara plant will also increase output of light oil products up to 95%.

Ferghana refinery has been commissioned in 1959 and now it produces over 60 types of oil products. The designed capacity of the plant allows to process 5.5 million tonnes of oil a year.

Bukhara refinery has been launched in 1997 and it is part of Uznefteprodukt. The plan was constructed by the consortium led by TECHNIP (France). The plant produces 10 types of oil products.
