Uzbekneftegaz: Issues of mutually beneficial cooperation with representatives of Degoler & MacNaughton, Schlumberger, Honeywell UOP were discussed in the USA

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of employees of Uzbekneftegaz, is on a working visit to the city of Houston. As part of a working visit to the United States of America on 11 October 2022, a number of meetings were held in Houston and agreements were reached.

In particular, a meeting was held with S. Pierce, Vice President of DeGolyer & MacNaughton. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of the signing of the contract and considered further areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, and the following agreements were reached:

- accelerating the signing and approval at the Center for Comprehensive Expertise of Projects and Import Contracts under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan of a contract to audit hydrocarbon reserves according to the international PRMS system at 114 fields of Uzbekneftegaz for 2021-2023;

- preparation of the necessary geological, geophysical, production and economic information in November of this year to complete the audit of reserves for 2021-2022 in March-April 2023.

DeGolyer & MacNaughton is one of the oldest companies in the oil and gas industry. Since its inception in 1936, it has provided a wide range of consulting services to its clients in the oil and gas industry. Representative offices of the company are open in different regions of the world. It should be noted that DeGolyer & MacNaughton specialists prepared reserves estimates for Uzbekneftegaz for 2017-2020.

On the same day, the Working Group held a meeting with A. Lovatinni, Vice President of Schlumberger, at which the implementation of the agreements was discussed, further steps for mutually beneficial cooperation were outlined, and the following agreements were reached:

- accelerating the coordination at the Center for Comprehensive Expertise of Projects and Import Contracts under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the formation of a program of geological and technical measures for 2023;

- cooperation in the field of gas processing and basin modeling using advanced technologies from Schlumberger.

Schlumberger is the largest oilfield services company. The main operating centers of the company are located in Houston, Paris, London and The Hague. In the list of the largest companies in the world, Forbes Global 2000 for 2022 ranked 348th. Uzbekneftegaz has a long-term fruitful cooperation with Schlumberger: joint work is currently underway to form, maintain and adjust the production program of Uzbekneftegaz JSC for 2022, and Schlumberger provides extended technical support services.

Also, the "Working Group" held a meeting with the Vice-President of Honeywell UOP, S. Curley, at which the status of the implementation of existing agreements was discussed and the following results were achieved:

- presentation of the solutions of the Tekfen company (Turkey) on optimizing the cost of implementing the Bukhara Oil Refinery modernization project in November of this year.

- study of the possibility of supplying catalysts for the product refinement unit (No. 50) of the GTL plant;

- assistance in solving problematic issues related to with the functioning of the automatic control system of the GTL plant;

- revision of the proposal by Honeywell UOP under the license agreement for the LAB project.

Honeywell UOP is an American multinational company that develops and supplies technologies for oil refining, gas processing, petrochemistry and the main manufacturing industries.

The company has taken part in more than 20 different projects in the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan as a licensor and contractor of process equipment. In particular, the company is an I&C contractor under the GTL project.

On 12 October 2022, the Working Group plans to participate in the Hydrocarbon Processing 2022 Awards event and hold negotiations with companies participating in this event.
