Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with the EAEU countries has tripled. This was announced by the Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergey Glazyev at a meeting of the joint working group on interaction between the EAEU and the Government of Uzbekistan, which took place on 6 September, 2023 in Samarkand.

As a result, Uzbekistan became the leader among the trade partners of the association in the CIS.

It is worth noting that the republic accounts for almost half of the volume of foreign trade of the EAEU with the CIS countries.

During the meeting, issues of convergence of technical regulation systems and the creation of a common electronic platform for customs administration, sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary supervision were also discussed.

In addition, the event discussed the creation of alternative logistics routes with the EAEU states, including the participation of Uzbekistan in projects to digitalize freight transport and stimulate cooperation ties.
