Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Due to a technical failure in the Tax Committee’s database, funds were mistakenly debited from 30,100 taxpayers, totaling 399.3 billion soums, the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan reported.

The debits affected various amounts: up to 100,000 soums for 7,203 taxpayers; from 100,000 to 1 million soums for 10,165; from 1 million to 10 million soums for 8,270; from 10 million to 100 million soums for 3,780; from 100 million to 1 billion soums for 672; and over 1 billion soums for 10 taxpayers.

Tax authorities assured that all necessary measures will be taken to return the funds by the end of the day. Relevant orders have already been sent to the treasury, and the refunds are being processed automatically without the need for written applications.

At the same time, collection orders not yet executed by commercial banks have been withdrawn.

As of 18:00, a total of 274.7 billion soums had already been returned to 20,608 taxpayers, the committee noted.
