Uzbekistan’s service sector reaches 317.25 trillion soums in January-July 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The total volume of services rendered in Uzbekistan from January to July 2024 reached 317.25 trillion soums, with services per capita amounting to 8.58 million soums, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Small businesses contributed 46.8% of the total market services, with small enterprises and microfirms accounting for 22.6%.

In the structure of financial services, excluding insurance and pension services, 88.2% was accounted for in the first seven months of 2024.

Tashkent city led with 58.8% of the financial services, amounting to 43,841.4 billion soums.

Retail trade comprised nearly three-quarters of the total trade services, specifically 59.8%.

Automobile transport services dominated the transportation sector, making up 44.4% of the total.

In Tashkent, transportation services totaled 13,298.6 billion soums, with a growth rate of 122.3%.

The volume of automotive transport services reached 30,977.6 billion soums, constituting 9.8% of the total market services.

Passenger automobile transport services held a 64.8% share, with taxi services accounting for 52.5% of this volume.

Telecommunication services dominated the communication and informatization sector, holding a 47.5% share in the first seven months of 2024.

In education services, higher education was the leading category, representing 59.5% of the sector’s total volume. Tashkent city accounted for the largest share of education services, with a total of 6,152.1 billion soums or 45.7% of the sector.

In healthcare, hospital services represented 46.4% of the total healthcare services, while other healthcare services and medical practices, including dentistry, held 29.2% and 24.4% respectively.

Real estate services, particularly leasing and property management, accounted for 94.7% of the total services related to real estate.

Accommodation and food services represented 3.9% of the total service volume, with food and beverage services making up 79.3%.

Rental services reached 4,954.7 billion soums, with car rental services making up 56% of this total.

Legal and accounting services amounted to 1,120.5 billion soums, with Tashkent contributing 84.4% of the total or 946.1 billion soums. Compared to the same period in 2023, these services in Tashkent grew by 219.6 billion soums or 19.8%.

Legal and accounting services play a crucial role in modern business and private life, ensuring legal protection and financial transparency.

On a per capita basis, legal and accounting services in Tashkent amounted to 309.4 thousand soums. High per capita figures were also noted in Navoi (9.7 thousand soums) and Tashkent (9.0 thousand soums) regions. In Surkhandarya, this figure was 1.5 thousand soums.

Legal services accounted for 32.5% or 364.7 billion soums of the total legal and accounting services. Tashkent was the largest market for legal services, with 273.9 billion soums or 75.1% of the total. This is attributed to the higher demand for legal services in cities due to denser populations, more commercial and civil transactions, and an increased number of legal disputes.

The per capita legal services volume reached 9.9 thousand soums on average, with Tashkent city leading at 89.6 thousand soums. High figures were also noted in Khorezm (6.0 thousand soums) and Tashkent (4.1 thousand soums) regions, while Surkhandarya recorded an average of 0.8 thousand soums.

Repair services for personal and household goods made up 27.9% of the total repair services for computers and household items.

In architecture, engineering surveys, technical testing, and analysis, the volume reached 5,219.7 billion soums, with Tashkent city contributing 58.5% of the total.
