Under those circumstances, Uzbekistan’s political orientation towards Russia and also support from other countries of the region, including China, for Russia’s policy there, led to the expulsion of the USA’s military base from that country [Uzbekistan]. This strengthened Uzbekistan’s political and economic position in the region.
