Uzbekistan’s opponent in last 16 to be determined late Monday
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan U-17 will find out its opponent in the last 16 of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011 on Monday evening as bad weather postponed match between Austria and Denmark.

Uzbekistan topped the Group D with six points and now will face the third placed national in Group F, which includes Brazil, Australia, Denmark and Côte d'Ivoire.

Brazil and Côte d'Ivoire played their last match in Group F on Monday morning and the side shared spoils after 3-3 draw. Brazil topped the group with seven points. Côte d'Ivoire is currently second with four points.

Heavy downpour and lightning forced officials to suspend the last Group F match between Australia and Denmark at the FIFA U-17 World Cup just 25 minutes into the game on Sunday.

Following an hour and a half delay in which the conditions did not improve the Organising Committee for the FIFA U-17 World Cup decided to abandon the match and replay it in its entirety on 27 June 2011, at 10:00 (local time) at the Estadio Corregidora in Queretaro.

“The safety of the players and all fans attending the match is paramount and as such the decision was taken to interrupt and then, following consultation with the respective authorities, to postpone the match to tomorrow,” explained David Chung, Acting Chairman of the Organising Committee.

Currently, Australia has three points after two matches, while Denmark lost both of the previous two games. The victory will move Australia to the second place in the group.
