Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan has announced a number of new appointments within its system.

Major General Farkhodjon Shermatov has been appointed First Deputy Head of the University of Defense and Military Security.

Colonel Kadirjon Tursunov has been named Commander of the troops of the South-Western Special Military District.

Colonel Kakhramonjon Zaidov has been appointed Head of the Land Forces Institute of the University of Defense and Military Security, while Colonel Abdulla Khamrayev will lead the Military Aviation Institute.

The Military Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Communications will be headed by Lieutenant Colonel Bakhtiyor Rakhimov, and the Military Medical Institute will be led by Colonel of the Medical Service Ulugbek Rasulov.
