Uzbekistan’s light industry to implement 106 projects in 2011-2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekyengilsanoat state joint stock company (Uzbek Light Industry) will implement 106 projects worth US$1.678 billion in 2011-2015.

The company said the own resources will make up US$331 million, foreign investments – US4361.4 million and loan resources – US$985.5 million, of which US$117.7 million were loans of commercial banks and US$867.8 million – resources of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan.

Main part of resources will be directed at creating capacities on production of cotton yarn (US$769 million), ready fabrics (US$559 million) and stockinet (US$151.4 million).

Uzbekyengilsanoat is planning to implement 21 projects for US$204.1 million in 2011, 16 projects for US$214.5 million in 2012, 13 projects for US$372.9 million in 2013, 21 projects for US$411.5 million in 2014 and 31 projects for US$474.9 million in 2015.

In particular, the capacities on production of cotton yarn will reach 680,000 (+342,600), ready fabrics – 460 million square meters (+266.4 million square meters), stockinet – 162,000 tonnes (+83,400 tonnes), ready knitwork – 350 million units (+202.8 million units), ready-made garments – 85.3 million units (70.7 million units) and hosiery products – 140 million pairs (+92.8 million pairs) by 2015.

In the result, the volume of industrial goods output will rose from 1.46 trillion soums in 2010 to 4.695 trillion soums in 2015 (growth – 3.2 times). In particular, the industrial goods output will rose from 502.7 billion soums in 2010 to 3.751 trillion soums in 2015 due to launch of new capacities.

The volume of goods and service exports in industry will rise from US$592.5 million in 2010 to US$1.578 billion in 2015. The export within new projects will increase from US$163.9 million in 2010 to US$948 million in 2015.

The company said that number of jobs within the industry will increase from 52,868 in 2010 to 94,716 in 2015.
