Uzbekistan’s industrial production reaches 292 trillion soums in Jan-May

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-May 2024, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 292.0 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2023 was 108.4%, the Statistics Agency said.

Today, there are 63.2 thousand industrial enterprises in the republic, of which 11.3 thousand (17.9% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 6.7 thousand (10.6%) in Ferghana, 6.5 thousand (10.3%) - Tashkent region, 5.3 thousand (8.4%) - Samarkand region and 5.1 thousand (8.1%) - Andijan.

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita for January-May 2024 showed a significant excess of the national average (7 918.1 thousand soums ) for Navoi region (47 667.0 thousand soums ), Tashkent city (18 445.1 thousand soums) and Tashkent region (14 811.1 thousand soums ).

In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (82.1%), the production volume of which amounted to 239.7 trillion soums.

In January-May 2024, the largest share in the total industrial production in the republic was Tashkent city (19.3%), Navoi (17.6%), Tashkent (15.5%), Andijan (10.2 %), Ferghana (5.1%) and Samarkand (5.0%) regions

Compared to the same period in 2023, average industrial production in the republic increased thanks to enterprises in the Andijan region (120.8%), Tashkent city (110.8%), Navoi (110.1%) and Namangan (109.6%) regions.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-May 2024 amounted to 25.9 trillion soums , or 8.9% of the total industry volume.

In January-May 2024, manufacturing enterprises produced goods worth 239.7 trillion soums, or 82.1% of the total industrial output.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 1.2% (1.3% for January-May 2023), medium-high technology - 23.6% (23.4%), medium- low technology - 38.9% ( 36.7%) and low-tech – 36.3% (38.6%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, installation of machinery and equipment, production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other finished metal products amounted to 21.3% (the physical volume index by January-May 2023 was 113.9%) , metallurgical industry - 25.4% (physical volume index by January-May 2023 was 106.9%), enterprises producing textiles, clothing, leather products - 17.2% (physical volume index by January-May 2023 amounted to 106.9%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises producing food, beverages and tobacco products was 15.6% (physical volume index by January-May 2023 was 103.3 %), enterprises producing chemical products, rubber and plastic products 7, 6% (physical volume index by January-May 2023 was 108.1%).

In January-May 2024, the republic produced 568.9 thousand tons of motor gasoline (compared to the corresponding period in 2023, an increase of 3.3%), 267.1 thousand tons of cotton yarn ( an increase of 16.5%), 81.3 million liters of beer (an increase of 1.2%) and 414.1 thousand tons of flour from soft wheat and spelt (a decrease of 16.6%).

In January-May 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 1 256 trucks (by the corresponding period in 2023, production volume increased by 40.5%).

In the country’s automotive industry, in January-May 2024, 57 542 Cobalt cars were produced ( the growth rate compared to the same period in 2023 increased by 46.6%), 4,000 Chery cars ( an increase of 45.3%), 7 433 – “KIA” (increase by 28.9%), 11 913 – “ Gentra ” (decrease by 57.4%), 31 239 – “ Damas ” (increase by 16.5%), 10 198 specialized passenger cars (an increase of 18.4%), 19 279 – “ Tracker ” (an increase of 2.2 times), 14 905 – “ Onix ” (an increase of 2.1 times), 93 – “ Exeed ” and 230 – “Haval”.

In January-May 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 107.5 thousand units. automobile engines (an increase of 26.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2023).

In January-May 2024, large enterprises in the engineering industry produced 410.6 thousand units. lead batteries for starting piston engines (by the corresponding period in 2023, a decrease in production of 15.4% was recorded).

In January-May 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 198.6 thousand units. refrigerators and freezers (by the corresponding period in 2023, a decrease in production of 31.5% was recorded).

Carrying out capital restoration work on technological equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the previous year’s production figures for the production of disodium carbonate (108.7% compared to January-May 2023 ) and potassium chloride (100.3%).

ys. In January-May 2024, the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 25.4%, the physical volume index increased by 6.9%, and the production volume amounted to 60,920.3 billion soums.

At the end of January-May 2024, the share of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 4.7%, the index of physical production volume increased by 22.0%, and the production volume amounted to 11 166.3 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of food products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 11.9%, the physical volume index was 100.4%, and the total production volume was 28 575.1 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.0%, the physical volume index was 108.7%, and the production volume reached 7 252.7 billion soums.

At the end of January-May 2024, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 12.7%, the physical volume index increased by 8.3%, and the production volume became equal to 30 347.7 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 4.1%, the physical volume index increased by 3.0%, and production volume reached 9 784.0 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of chemical products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 5.6%, the index of physical production volume increased by 3.7%, and the production volume amounted to 13 502.1 billion soums.

At the end of January-May 2024, the share of production of coke and petroleum products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 4.0%, the physical volume index increased by 45.1%, and the production volume amounted to 9 575.0 billion soums.

For January-May 2024, the share of production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 2.0%, the physical volume index was 127.1%, the production volume was 4 758.9 billion soums.

For January-May 2024, the share of production of electrical equipment in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.2%, the index of physical production volume was 99.4%, and the production volume was 7 659.6 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of production of finished metal products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 2.3%, the physical volume index was 105.0%, and the production volume was 5 431.3 billion soums.

In January-May 2024, the share of production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 13.6%, the physical volume index was 123.9%, the production volume reached 32 613.0 billion soums.

The volume of products produced by electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises during the period under review amounted to 24.7 trillion soums (8.5% of the total industry volume).

Compared to the same period in 2023, in January-May 2024, electricity production amounted to 98.6%, heat energy – 95.7%.

The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises in January-May 2024 amounted to 1.7 trillion soums (0.5% of the total industry volume).

Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, in January-May 2024 there was a decrease in the production of textile waste by 6.2%, an increase in services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and its treatment - by 1.7 times, services for emptying, purification and treatment of cesspools, settling tanks and septic tanks - by 1.8%.

In January-May 2024, small businesses produced products worth 73.3 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 25.1 %. For the period from January to May 2023, the share of small businesses in total production amounted to 23.9%.
