Uzbekistan’s industrial output increases by 8.3% in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of industrial production in Uzbekistan increased by 8.3% year-on-year in 2010 and made up 33.581 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said that power industry of Uzbekistan produced goods for 2.822 trillion soums (+4.5%), fuel industry – 6.44 trillion soums (+3.5%), ferrous metallurgy – 823 billion soums (+5.8%), non- ferrous metallurgy – 3.784 trillion soums (-0.9%).

The volume of produced goods in chemical and oil-chemical industry grew by 15.4% to 1.702 trillion soums, machinery and metal processing – by 11.6% to 5.433 trillion soums, timber processing, pulp and paper industry – by 7% to 360 billion soums.

The growth of construction materials increased by 8.7% in 2010 to 1.675 trillion soums. Light industry of Uzbekistan manufactured products for 4.489 trillion soums(+17.3%), food industry – 4.232 trillion soums (+13.1%) and others – 1.82 trillion soums (+9.4%).

According to the State Statistics Committee, Uzbekistan produced consumer goods worth 11.263 trillion soums, which is 12% up year-on-year.

In particular, production of food products grew by 8.2% to 4.711 trillion soums and non-food products – by 14.9% to 6.552 trillion soums.
