Economy 24/11/2007 Uzbekistan’s GDP grows by 9.8% in Jan-Sep 2007
The committee said the GDP index-deflator was 118.7% year-on-year in January-September 2007. It said about 78.7% of total GDP fell to share of the non-government sector (up 1.5% year-on-year) and 21.3% to the state sector.

The growth of GDP connected with increase of value added in industry by 6.6%, communication by 16% and trade by 22.2%. Its share reached 42.4% of GDP in the reporting period.

Small businesses produced 43.1% of total volume of GDP or grew by 4.1 percentage points in nine months of 2007 compared to the same period of the year. The share of small enterprises and micro firms in GDP comprised 25.3% or up 5.2 percentage points.

Republic of Karakalpakstan (12.2%), Tashkent city (14.6), Samarkand region (12.9%), Andijan region (10.1%), Bukhara region (10%) and Kashkadarya region (09.1%) recorded the highest growth of the gross regional product in the reporting period.
