Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry Urges Citizens Not to Succumb to Provocations Amid Escalation in the Middle East
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued an appeal to the country’s citizens, urging them to remain calm and refrain from reacting to provocative or offensive rhetoric. The Ministry called for a measured, rational response to ongoing developments rather than an emotional one.
The statement expresses deep concern over the escalating situation in the Middle East, particularly the intensifying confrontation between Israel and Iran, which has led to armed clashes. The Ministry emphasized that further escalation poses a real threat to peace and stability across the entire region and has drawn the serious concern of the international community.
Special attention was drawn to the humanitarian consequences of the conflict, with civilians — including women and children — suffering the most. Uzbekistan firmly believes that war is not a means of solving problems. On the contrary, it poses a grave threat to human life, societal development, and regional security. The Ministry underscored the idea that in any war, there are no winners — the greatest losses are always borne by the civilian population.
Reaffirming Uzbekistan’s commitment to a policy of peace and good neighborliness, the Ministry urged citizens to maintain a peaceful, tolerant, and responsible stance. It called on the public to avoid any displays of hostility on religious, ethnic, or other grounds and to reject all forms of incitement to violence, hatred, and confrontation.
The statement also highlighted the importance of preserving interethnic and interfaith harmony in society as a fundamental condition for lasting stability and security.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reiterated its unwavering support for the peaceful resolution of all conflicts based solely on the norms and principles of international law and diplomatic dialogue.
