Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister expresses condolences following earthquake in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished in the devastating earthquake in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

"On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, we express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the devastating earthquake in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China," the Uzbek Foreign Minister wrote on his Telegram channel.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and we wish a full and speedy recovery to all the injured," he added.

It is worth noting that on 7 January 2025, at 9:05 AM Beijing time (4:05 AM Tashkent time), an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck the Dingri (Tingri) county of Shigatse city in the Tibet Autonomous Region, located in southwestern China.

The earthquake resulted in fatalities, numerous injuries, and significant damage to the region’s infrastructure, with over 1,000 buildings either destroyed or damaged.
