Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 28 June, a regional expert seminar was held in Vienna for representatives from Central Asian states. The seminar focused on the national action plans for implementing the agenda "Women, Peace, and Security."

The event was attended by key experts and representatives from governments and civil society institutions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

During the seminar, detailed discussions took place on the development and implementation of national action plans aimed at ensuring gender equality and enhancing the role of women in peace and security matters. There was also an exchange of experiences.

In particular, Gulnora Marufova, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, shared Uzbekistan’s achievements in this area and successful practices aimed at integrating gender perspectives into decision-making processes in security and peacebuilding.

One of the main topics of discussion was the exchange of experiences in involving women in peacekeeping operations and conflict resolution. Methods to overcome barriers faced by women in these processes and ways to actively involve them in decision-making at all levels were discussed.

As a result of the seminar, recommendations were developed by participants for further development and enhancement of national action plans, as well as for strengthening cooperation among Central Asian states in implementing the agenda "Women, Peace, and Security."
