Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 31 January, a delegation from the government of Uzbekistan, led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, participated in the regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty as an observer.
The meeting, chaired by the Republic of Belarus, brought together the heads of government from EAEU member states, including the Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektanov; Belarus, Roman Golovchenko; Kyrgyzstan, Adilbek Kasimaliev; Russia, Mikhail Mishustin; and Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mger Grigoryan.
Also participating were the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev; observers from Iran, including the First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref; Cuba, represented by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz (via video link); and the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, as a guest.
It was highlighted that Uzbekistan continues to actively participate in multilateral EAEU meetings in observer status, expanding practical cooperation with the Union’s member states. As part of this interaction, a three-year Action Plan between the government of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission, approved in October 2024, is being implemented.
During the meeting, Abdulla Aripov called for support for the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced at the High Eurasian Economic Summit in December 2024, and for efforts to facilitate their realization.
