Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan plans to open an official representative office and warehouse in Morocco, according to a statement from the organization.
On 9 November, the Chairman of the Chamber, Davron Vakhabov, held a series of meetings in Casablanca during his participation in the Maroc in Mode exhibition.
One of the meetings was with the leadership of the Moroccan Association of Textile and Apparel Industries (AMITH), where the parties discussed the export of Uzbek textiles to Morocco for processing and supply to the United States and European Union countries.
The Uzbek side expressed interest in opening a representative office of the Chamber in Casablanca and a warehouse in Tardine.
During the visit, Vakhabov also held negotiations with representatives of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), where the prospects for expanding investments in the textile industry were discussed.
As a result of the meetings, several agreements were reached to expand cooperation in areas such as textiles, leather and footwear industries, construction, and information technology.
Additionally, the parties agreed to organize a business mission for Moroccan entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan before the end of this year.
