Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Since 24 July 2024, a business mission led by representatives of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan has been visiting EU countries.
On 25 July, the delegation participated in the Exposição Tecnológica exhibition held in Alcanena, Portugal.
During the meeting with the event organizers, including the leadership of the Leather Industry Technology Center and the Portuguese Leather Industry Association, discussions focused on trade development, private sector support, and enhancing the competitiveness of Uzbek export products.
The delegation also held meetings with representatives of Portuguese companies CTIC, Aquitex, CEPSA, Alidata, Mapril ION Exchange, VentilAQUA, Desotec, and José Maria & Filhos. Discussions centered on applying the experience of Portuguese companies in introducing new production technologies and the treatment and disposal of used water at leather industry enterprises. The Portuguese side expressed interest in promoting Uzbek products in European markets.
On 27-28 July, meetings were held in Italy with representatives of companies such as Confidustria Toscana Sud, Vittoria Makina, Pratica, Alpe S.P.A, and others.
During the negotiations, the production potential of Uzbekistan was presented, and opportunities for expanding industrial cooperation were explored, including the production of goods under Italian brands in various sectors, including the leather industry. Special attention was given to implementing deep processing technologies for leather waste at Uzbek enterprises in collaboration with Italian companies.
As a result of the visit, an agreement was reached to open a trading house in the Italian city of Prato in collaboration with the company Peng Sheng Charm.
Currently, the Uzbek delegation continues its mission in Spain.
