Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov met with Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairperson of the Board of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, Dunyo news agency reported.

The Kazakh side highly praised Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms and expressed readiness to actively participate in major investment projects, as well as to facilitate the attraction of Kazakh investors to the country’s economy.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for investment cooperation, including the organization of a roundtable with the participation of Kazakh business representatives.

Umut Shayakhmetova emphasized the bank’s interest in mobilizing additional resources for investment initiatives in Uzbekistan. She also confirmed her participation in the plenary session of the Foreign Investors’ Council at the Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June this year.
