Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first time, Uzbekistan will host the international tournament “Doctors Community Cup-Tashkent – 2019”.

The tournament is held on the initiative of the Ministry of Health and the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Health Workers of Uzbekistan.

Football among our doctors is considered one of the most popular sports. The national team of doctors in our country’s football has been successfully participating in the World Championships held between football teams of doctors for several years now. From 2018, the Ministry of Health and the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan began to sponsor the team, and this financial support inspires football players. This was discussed during the press conference held before the international tournament “Doctors Community Cup Tashkent 2019, organized on 25-30 March in Tashkent with the participation of football teams of the Countries of independent states and doctors of Ukraine.

It is known that the Ministry of Health pays special attention to promotion of a healthy lifestyle. In particular, since March 2019, every Saturday, high-level public events are held such as the Republican Walking Day, the Republican Walking Marathon. This international tournament is also a logical continuation of these efforts. That is, the Doctors Community Cup Tashkent 2019 international tournament is held to promote healthy lifestyles among health care providers, to popularize football doctors - the games of millions, to enhance the image of our doctors among the doctors of the world community, to show foreign doctors of sights and tourist potential of the country.

According to the competition regulations, employees over 25 years old will participate in the games, regardless of their specialty and citizenship, with a medical degree. In addition to the national team of Uzbekistan, national teams of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus and Ukraine will compete in the tournament. In addition, Guillaume Gassend, a representative of the Olympic Association of World Health Workers in France, is invited.

It should be noted that the Russian team with doctors 40 years and older will arrive in our country. Therefore, the national team of Uzbekistan-2 will participate in this age category. Thus, 8 teams will participate in the prestigious competition.

Grand opening and the draw ceremony will take place on 25 March. Here, teams from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus and Ukraine will compete, divided into two groups. Games will be held at 11:00 and 14:00 at the stadiums "Milly" and "Heat" of the capital. And the national teams of Russia and Uzbekistan-2 will not participate in the team competition. The play-off game will take place on 29 March and the final – on 30 March. The closing ceremony of the tournament will take place at 17:00.
