Uzbekistan-Türkiye: prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture with a delegation of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye and the Council of Foreign Economic Relations, consisting of representatives of 10 leading private companies in the field of technical consulting. 

At the meeting, opportunities for further development of technical consulting in agriculture and strengthening multifaceted cooperative relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were discussed.

At the meeting, the Turkish side highly appreciated the development of the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan as a result of reforms implemented over the past 5 years. Given the need to modernize agriculture in the future, they expressed their willingness to contribute and share their best practices.

Also at the meeting, the Turkish delegation presented the experience of 10 Turkish engineering and technical consulting companies operating in foreign countries and provided information about their international projects.

During the conversation, which took place in a friendly and interactive spirit, issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in terms of adaptation to climate change in the field of agriculture, mechanical composition of the soil, climatic conditions of the region, groundwater levels and soil layers were discussed. In addition, the exchange of experience on the formation of existing hydromodular zoning taking into account location was discussed.

A proposal was also put forward to conduct joint scientific research aimed at reducing the negative impact on water, soil and beneficial living organisms in pest control and to study Türkiye’s experience in insuring crops and livestock against the risks of climate change.
