The statement of the Uzbek ministry said that the delegations of Uzbekistan and Turkey led by deputy ministers of foreign affairs will hold political consultations between two bodies on 11 October 2012 in Tashkent.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, Turkey is the fifth largest trade partner of Uzbekistan in the result of January-September 2012. Share of Turkey in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover made up 4.5% in the reporting period.

Trade turnover between two states made up US$872.5 million in nine months of 2012 against US$909.8 million in January-September 2011. Exports of Uzbekistan to Turkey fell from US$704.8 million in Janaury-September 2011 to US$618.6 million in the same period of 2012, while imports jumped from US$205 million to US$253.9 million.
