The meeting was also attended by members of the Uzbek and Turkish delegations, participating in the 22nd session of the UNWTO GA in Chengdu (China).
The parties discussed main measures of practical cooperation between two countries in the field of tourism, which are necessary to increase the flow of tourists from Turkey to Uzbekistan. In particular, such important areas of cooperation as promotion of national tourism product in the Turkish tourism market, attraction of Turkish investments in the tourism industry of Uzbekistan, education and training in the field of tourism, permanent cooperation between employees of tourist agencies of the two countries and other issues were discussed.
One of the vectors of mutually beneficial partnership will be involvement of the leading Turkish tourism expert in the State Tourism Development Committee as an adviser to the chairman.
The parties also agreed to organize a training seminar for 30 workers in tourism sector of Uzbekistan in Antalya (Turkey) in late October 2017.
The sides agreed to prepare and present a presentation of investment projects proposed for implementation in such tourist centers of Uzbekistan as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Charvak -Chimgan zone in Tashkent region.
In this regard, the Uzbek side proposed to organize a special investment forum under the auspices of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, which will be attended by major tour operators, heads of hotel complexes, shopping and entertainment centers, etc., to identify and achieve specific agreements on the line investing in the tourism industry of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the details of the planned visit of the Turkish delegation led by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmush to Uzbekistan, which will be held in mid-October 2017 to familiarize with the tourism opportunities and potential of Uzbekistan, were discussed.
In order to timely achieve concrete practical results of the Uzbek-Turkish cooperation in the tourism sector, the "Uzbek-Turkish Joint Tourism Commission" will be established in November this year, the first meeting of which will be held in November 2017.
To consolidate the agreements reached, an appropriate agreement will be concluded between the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey in the very near future.
