Uzbekistan to suspend some EurAsEC agreements
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan plans to develop draft law “On suspension of action of some international agreements of the Eurasian Economic Community by the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted resolution “On approval of plan of law drafting work of the Government of Uzbekistan for 2010” on 25 December 2009. The document envisages development of the draft law, which is planned to submit to Legislative Chamber in March 2010.

The resolution said in connection with suspension of membership of Uzbekistan in EurAsEC, it is necessary to adopt separate legislative act to suspend action of some EurAsEC international documents.

Suspension of effect of international agreements unbinds Uzbekistan from execution of the agreements during membership suspension period.

In line with the article 41 of the Law “On international agreement of Uzbekistan”, suspension of international agreements’ effect in Uzbekistan is carried out by the body, which agreed to obligations of international agreement for Uzbekistan.

Suspension of membership of Uzbekistan in EurAsEC was legally registered by the decision of intergovernmental Council of EurAsEC from 24 December 2008 “On suspension of participation of Uzbekistan in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Council”.
