Uzbekistan to Strengthen Support for Vulnerable Groups

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of Parliament of Uzbekistan is conducting a clause-by-clause review in second reading of a draft law aimed at further improving the system of state support for socially vulnerable categories of the population.

The document provides for the expansion of social protection mechanisms and the strengthening of the rights of persons with disabilities in line with international standards.

One of the key objectives of the draft law is to ensure full and equal access to justice for these citizens, as well as to improve the effectiveness of targeted social assistance.

Among the proposed measures is the introduction of a unified mechanism of state support for families included in the Social Register. This is expected to systematize the delivery of social assistance and improve the targeting of support measures.

The draft law is also aimed at improving the organization of the social protection system and creating more effective mechanisms for supporting citizens in need of state assistance.
