The press-service of Legislative Chamber said that Supreme Court of Uzbekistan submitted the law to parliament as legislative initiative. The document is directed at improving the credibility and strengthening independence of the judiciary system, ensuring the inviolability of judges.

The law sets responsibility for disrespect to the judge, as well as for committing acts that demonstrate a clear disregard for the court. In this regard, the amendments will be made to the Law “On Courts”, the Code of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility and the Code of Civil Procedure.

After discussion, the MPs approved concept of the draft law and passed it in the first reading. MPs also entrusted corresponding committee to finalize document for the second reading.
