Uzbekistan to reduce VAT rate to 12% from 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 January 2023, Uzbekistan will reduce the value added tax rate to 12 percent. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a dialogue with entrepreneurs.

During the open dialogue, it was noted that one of the most problematic issues for small and medium-sized businesses is related to the calculation and refund of value added tax.

During an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in 2021, the President promised to continue the policy of easing the tax burden on businesses and further reduce the value added tax rate.

“I must say openly, some suggested: “the economy has not yet recovered from the pandemic, the global economy is in an unfavorable situation, so let’s put it off until later. But I want to assure you: we will never turn off the path of reforms and from 1 January 2023 we will reduce value added tax rate up to 12 percent!" Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
