Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will buy 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil and 300,000 tons of Russian oil in transit through Kazakhstan in 2023.

An agreement was reached during a meeting between Tokayev and Mirziyoyev in Tashkent, Sputnik news agency reported.

The purchase agreement is estimated at US$$150 million, transit - US$9 million. They also agreed to work on increasing the volume of oil supplies to 3 million tons.

Uzbekistan’s own oil production in 2022 was about 65,000 tons per month (according to the State Statistics Committee).

The capacity of Uzbek refineries is estimated at 10 million tons per year, and they remain underutilized.
