Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On Additional Measures to Improve the Provision of Social Services to Persons Victims of Oppression and Violence”.

According to the document, in order to introduce a system of providing primary medical services to victims of oppression who are in a state of psychological stress, 24-hour primary care rooms will be created in emergency admission departments:

from 1 June 2024 - in Jizzakh, Navoi and Khorezm regions;

from 1 October 2024 - in all other regions of the republic.

In the primary care rooms of emergency departments:

women who have suffered from oppression and violence, who have made an attempt on their life or who are prone to suicide, as well as their minor children, will be accommodated to improve their physical and mental condition for a period of no more than three days;

Emergency first aid will be provided, including psychological and psychotherapeutic, and tests for the presence of infectious diseases will be carried out.

From 1 October 2024, in each case of issuance of a protection order, a correctional program will be approved to change the violent behavior of persons who have committed or are prone to commit harassment and violence, in agreement with the Inson centers.

From 1 January 2025, internal affairs bodies will maintain a register of persons who have committed or are inclined to commit oppression and violence.

From 1 December 2024, when cases of harassment and violence are reported two or more times within one calendar year, internal affairs bodies will issue a protective order on an initiative basis.
