Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for the Development of the Silk and Wool Industry in Uzbekistan will be dissolved. The decree on the liquidation of this committee was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The functions of the abolished body will be redistributed among various government structures. Pasture management will be transferred to the Committee for Veterinary and Livestock Development.

The Ministry of Agriculture, along with the "Uzbekipaksanoat" association, will handle issues related to cocoon cultivation and the development of sericulture.

The Research Institute of Karakul Sheep Breeding and Desert Ecology, as well as the Bukhara Center for Desert Plant Seed Breeding, will be transferred to the system of the Committee for Veterinary Affairs.

As for the sericulture and natural fibers institutes, they will be transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture.
