Uzbekistan to launch production of potash fertilizers in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to launch capacities on production of potash fertilizers worth US$123.7 million at Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers.

The capacity of the plant, which is located in Kashkadarya region, will be 200,000 tonnes of products a year.

Uzkimyosanoat state joint-stock company, who is building owner, plans to start to supply potash fertilizers to internal and external markets in the third quarter of 2010.

Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan allocated US$61.9 million loan, while China’s Eximbank issued US$41.7 million loan to finance the project. Uzkimyosanoat will also direct its own funds to finance the construction.

Uzbekistan started to construct Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers in 2007 on the base of Tyubegata potassium salts deposit. In 2008, Uzkimyosanoat inked agreements with Russia’s Zapodnouralskiy Machinjstroitelniy Kontsern and China’s CITIC Pacific Ltd on construction of the plant. In particular, the Russian firm will build mining complex and Chinese firm - processing plant.
