Uzbekistan to Launch Forum "Kelajak Uchun" for Selection of Promising Reform Initiatives

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is launching a new initiative aimed at involving the wider public in the country’s reform process.

In accordance with a decree signed by the President of Uzbekistan titled “On Additional Measures for Further Support of Promising Initiatives in the Implementation of Reforms,” from 2025 onward, the Forum of Promising Initiatives “Kelajak Uchun” (“For the Future”) will be held annually.

The main goal of the forum is to ensure active participation of qualified specialists, youth, entrepreneurs, proactive citizens, and compatriots in implementing people-centered reforms, promote competitive ideas, integrate new technologies and scientific achievements, and create effective development mechanisms.

The Agency for Strategic Reforms is designated as the organizer and coordinator responsible for preparing and conducting the forum. It will handle the collection and preliminary expertise of initiatives submitted by citizens and organizations, their selection, compilation of a unified list, and interaction with relevant ministries and agencies for implementing the selected proposals.

The evaluation of initiatives will be conducted by a Mentorship Council. All citizen proposals will be accepted through a specially created digital crowd-platform. Following the selection, initiatives will be ranked into categories: top 50 and top 10. The most promising initiatives (those entering the top 10) will be presented at the forum’s plenary session with the participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Funding and implementation of the approved projects will be ensured through loans from the Business Development Bank, other commercial banks, as well as grants allocated by the Fund for Science Financing and Innovation Support.

Thus, this new initiative will serve as an effective tool for involving citizens in the reform process, strengthening the connection between the state and society, and promoting progressive and constructive ideas.
