Uzbekistan to invest US$910m to develop roads
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to invest about US$910 million soums to development of roads in 2012 compared to US$566 million, expected in 2011.

Prime agency reported quoting source in National Road Fund of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan that US$790 million will be directed to modernization of roads, part of Uzbekistan national highway with extension of 327 km.

In particular, it is planned to direct US$215 million to reconstruction of 4-lane road with cement pavement with extension of 105 km and US$173 million to reconstruction of lane road with asphalt payment with extension of 152 km. Some US$23 million will be invested to construction of overpasses and bridges and US$10 million to transport flyovers.

The fund official said that Uzbekistan will also repair roads of general use and inter-economic rural automobiles roads for further development of transport infrastructure in rural areas.

In particular, it is planned to repair over 350 km of general use roads and 1,100 km of inter-economic rural automobile roads for US$120 million.
