Uzbekistan to introduce system on business climate and social-economic development assessment
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan with its resolution approved system of quarterly assessment of indicators of business environment and level of social-economic development in Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city.

According to the resolution, the system will be introduced from 1 July 2012. The system will comprise of such indicators as balanced macroeconomic indicators, level of modernization and diversification of economy, level of formation of business climate, development of private sector in economy, development of financial-banking sector and social development of the region.

Each of these indicators will have several separate indicators, which will be rated from 1 (poor growth) to 4 (significant growth). Each indicator has own method of calculation.

The Government entrusted the State Statistics Committee, Central Bank, State Demonopolization Committee, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Population and other interested ministries and departments will provide results of assessment of business climate and social-economic development of each region to the Ministry of economy. The report should be submitted by 10th day of the month, following the end of quarter.

Institute for forecasting and macroeconomic research under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan was entrusted to hold survey of businesses in each region to assess business climate in Uzbekistan, including in Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city, each quarter.

After summarizing and monitoring results, the rating of each region will be determined and economic review will be published. The review will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan by the 15th day of the month, following the end of quarter.
