Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In 2023-2024, Uzbekistan will introduce a system of mandatory labeling of water and soft drinks. This is envisaged by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

According to the document, the system will be introduced in two stages. From 1 July 2023, the labeling of fruit and vegetable juices (without alcohol in the composition), carbonated and non-carbonated drinks, as well as water will begin.

From 1 August 2024, the labeling of water and soft drinks in metal and aluminum containers will begin.

Earlier Uzbekistan introduced mandatory labeling of medicines, household appliances, tobacco and alcohol products, as well as beer.
