Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- This year, the volume of Russian gas transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is planned to increase almost three times compared to last year to 3.8 billion cubic meters. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

According to the agreement on strategic cooperation between PJSC Gazprom and the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the annual volume of Russian gas transportation to Uzbekistan will be increased from 1.28 billion cubic meters in 2023 to 3.8 billion cubic meters in 2024, the department noted.

Uzbekistan began importing gas from Russia via Kazakhstan in October 2023.

Gas transit is carried out through the Central Asia – Center gas pipeline.
